Colouring sheets are also an easy and low cost promotion. Use the colouring sheet as a giveaway with the purchase of a fresh fruit or vegetable product. You may want to, for example, promote salad sandwiches one week. Simply download the colouring sheet you would like to use and white-out the postal details and replace with text: ‘Please return to the school canteen by x date’. Distribute the colouring sheets with every purchase of a sandwich containing salad on it. Don’t forget to let students know about the promotion the week before! There are currently six F&V Gang colouring sheets and lots of fun activity sheets that you can use in your school canteen promotions. Other ideas could involve holding a competition where students have to create a poster which includes either their favourite fruit or vegetables or The F&V Gang. These posters could also be displayed around the school canteen to brighten it up.

The Fresh for Kids Program have (in partnership with NSW Health) produced a series of six posters featuring apples, mandarins, bananas, corn, carrots and salad sandwiches. The posters are aimed at positioning fresh fruit and vegetables as fun snack foods that taste great and are easy to eat.

Posters have been sent to every primary school in NSW and also to a number of fruit and vegetable greengrocers in NSW.
